Inspiration & Getting Started With Needlepoint Tapestry

"I am Francie DeMun and I am a tapestry artist here on behalf of Expert Village. I think the best place for me to begin is the beginning of my process. I hesitate because it is not a linear thing; it’s a quiet place I go when I am going to begin. Each of my creations is completely unique in itself. Each the inspiration energetically is unique. I basically get into a space where I feel like creating a new one I take out a blank canvass, surround myself with Scottish wools, beautiful wools and lots of colors. I have always loved colors. This actually comes from as a girl I lived in India and I used to watch women doing embroidered with vibrant colors. The finished look was not like mine but I would watch them using these colors and there is something earthy about working with these."
