"Now we're ready to start coloring the images that are on the plastic. It still might be useful to keep the white sheet of paper with the original image underneath, so that you can see exactly where you're drawing, because again, the pencil is very hard to see on the plastic. You should make images where you don't have to put too much detail in. The most important thing is that it should have a few varying colors on each image, and, of course, even though you've copied the same image more than once, it doesn't need to be the same color. When doing this project, one of the things that I find important, is to keep it with a nice clean look to it. I don't want to clutter the plastic sheet up with a whole bunch of different images, I want to make some small, clean, colorful images around and leave enough empty space so especially since it's going to have a light bulb underneath, you want the light to shine through and not be cluttered up with a lot of images. So it's important to leave some empty space in between the pictures that you're drawing, and of course the colors is very important. You really want to vary the colors and keep the entire thing very colorful and eye catching. I almost always use markers for this project; I think it comes out much nicer, it has a much more of a cleaner look. The paint can get kind of messy; it's harder to control when you're making smaller images. The markers work perfect, they go really nice on the sheet of plastic that we're using. Also it saves time, that you don't have to wait for any paint to dry, and especially when you're moving the sheet of plastic around going from image to image, sometimes the paint can get a little messy, get smudged. So I really recommend using the markers, it's the easiest and gives you the cleanest look for this project. Now we can see how nice our plastic sheet looks once our images are on it, and we've used a lot of different colors, I even used some gold and silver metallic markers. So this really is going to make this project look really nice in the end, and I've now shown you how to get the images from the white paper and trace them onto the plastic sheet that's going to be the outside of the lampshade."
