"The last thing that I want to show you is how to prepare the measuring board for hanging on the wall. Now, one of the ways we can do this is we can just put a small hole onto the top of the measuring board and then attach a string with some glue, or some masking tape, and this will hold fine. The way I'm going to prepare the measuring board for attaching to the wall is by using some double sided tape. As you peel away the tape, it has a sticky surface and the other side has a coating of plastic that can be peeled away, sort of like the contact paper. And I'm going to put it on different points of the measuring board, mainly on the top and the bottom, and I'll put some around the sides as well to give it some support. The important thing to remember is that put the sticky side down on the measuring board and leave the plastic covering on the double sided tape until you're ready to put it on the wall, because once it's uncovered and it's left open in the air, it will lose it's sticky surface and it won't be able to be attached to any other surface. So I cut little strips. Each strip is about an inch and a half to two inches long, and I put it in different areas of the measuring board. Now, if I've covered the top and the bottom and some strips in the middle, I can be sure that once the measuring board is attached to the wall, it'll be nice and secure. Also, one of the advantages of using the plastic, other than the ease of making the decorations and writing on it and also putting the contact paper on it, one of the advantages is that it doesn't tear easily. And usually when this is hanging on a wall and kids are touching it and they're drawing on it, they're making their markings to measure their height as they grow, so it stays on the wall for a long time. And if it's made of paper, I find that they rip very easily and it's a shame because after you've used it for a few months, you really want to keep it up there so they've continued their growth, they can really measure their growth and they're still interested in seeing it and making the measurements. So it's a type of project that you want to have hanging on the wall, could be even up to a year, two years. So you want it to be made of a material that is going to last. Now I've shown you how to put the double sided tape to the backside of the measuring board, and now we're able to hang it on a wall in our child's room."
