"Now that the paint has dried around our can; which is going to be our drum; we're going to apply those strips that we made with the gold fasteners in them. The way we do that is to apply some rubber cement glue right around the top of the can. We go all the way around the circumference, so that all of the strip will have contact with glue. Then we go ahead and lay it as high up as we can. We keep the lid on because it helps us keep the strip from going too high over the top of the can, so we know exactly where to place it. We go and put it right underneath the lid; all the way around. It doesn't matter exactly where this strip starts, and where it ends, but as we apply the second strip, we're going to have to line up the golden fasteners so that each one falls in the middle of the one on top. Once the strip has been glued around the top, we're ready to put the bottom strip around the base. We do the same thing, by putting some rubber cement glue all around the circumference of the base. This time, when we take the strip, we have to line it up so that the gold fastener falls in the middle of the top two fasteners, so that when we put the string around the fasteners, it will be at an angle. We see that it's not lying one on top of the other, but it actually falls in the middle of the two fasteners that are above it. I like to use the rubber cement glue, because it dries relatively quick, and it also creates a nice strong seal. You can hold it in place for a few seconds; wait until it dries. Now we can see how the decoration is going to start to look like a real drum. Once we add the string going up and down at the angles, it will really be a nice authentic looking decoration for our drum. Now I've shown you how to apply the strips with the gold fasteners in them along the base of the drum, and along the top of the drum; making sure that the gold fasteners fall in the proper place. The next step is to put the string on."
