"Hi! This is Ginny with Simply Beautiful Crafts on behalf of Expert Village and today we are going to make a very fun pretzel wreath. This one happens to be a picture frame and this one is for baby’s first birthday. The first thing you want to do when you are making a picture frame or a wreath is to weave your ribbon through the pretzel. If you wrap your ribbon around the outside of your wreath, one and a fourth to one and a half times you will have enough ribbon, I usually just leave mine on the spool and go with it that way. You want to put your ribbon from behind, through the wreath and then over a joint. When it is a very wide ribbon like this, you are going to have to fold it to get it through, pull it through, and what I like to do with something like this, is to make sure that I leave a little bit of it on top, so it has kind of a puffy effect that way when it comes around, it gets a little bit more of a 3D effect to your piece and it is a little more dramatic that way. So you go in and out, up and down, straighten out your ribbon, so that you have both edges out and weave it all the way through. You can pull it snugly on the underside because you do not really want that to be puffy, just leave it a little bit puffy on top. Once you have done that all the way around on your wreath, you are going to want to take your hot glue gun and secure it on the back. So when you come to your joint, lay a bead of hot glue in the joint, you may have to pleat your ribbon a little bit to make it all fit because you do not want it show, put your ribbon on, hold it until it is cool and then do the same thing with the other end. There are many different things you can do for babies. These happened to be stickers that I found in the scrap booking section and so I placed them around where I wanted them before I glued them on. I also found a very inexpensive set of beads that were designed for children and I could use these beads to spell Happy First Birthday at the bottom, if I did not have the stickers. You can also get foam stickers that are 3D and there are a wide variety of styles and some of them are just generic. So you can also use foam stickers to put around on any kind of a wreath that you would choose to do. These just happen to be shapes and fun stickers, but you can find ones that are designed for specific themes. When you are finished with the thick ribbon like this, you want to take the end of the ribbon and cut it in half and then fold it and make a hanger. A very last thing you want to do is take a piece of tag board, and cut it to fit the back, glue it at the bottom and that leaves your room to put a picture for that baby’s very first birthday, a very special gift for a very special little boy or a girl.
