"Hi! This is Ginny with Simply Beautiful Crafts on behalf of Expert Village. Today, we are going to make this beautiful Patriotic Wreath. What you are going to do is start with your basic pretzel wreath that you have already made, that you have already varnished and you could weave it with ribbon. You can use plain red, plain blue, plain white; you could weave them and make a braid out of them or get a specialty ribbon. When you start weaving your ribbon through your wreath, you want to make sure that the first time it goes over a joint, so you weave your ribbon through in and out, making sure that you keep your printed side up, going all the way around your wreath and when you get to the end you are going to use your hot glue gun. You can use a hot glue gun once you have had your wreath varnished, it will not keep your wreath together, but it will allow you to embellish your wreath. When you get to the end of your ribbon, you are going to want to lay a bead of hot glue right down the middle of the joint and then press your ribbon making sure that it does not show above or below until it is glued down. Then you are ready to embellish your wreath. I was able to find these embellishments in the scrap booking section of my local craft store, but there you can use small flowers, which I did, I just took them, took three of them and put them together to make a little red, white and blue set and then placed them around your wreath where you think you would like them to go. I would like to put mine between the ribbon so that the ribbon shows. If you lay them on first and play with them, you have an idea of the balance and of the look of your wreath. So go ahead and do your ribbon, put your embellishments on, put them where you want them to go, and then just take your glue gun and either put the glue on your embellishment or put it right down on the pretzel, put your embellishments where you want them and then when you are finished with that, you are going to want to make some kind of a ribbon or a finish for the end. I made my ribbon and put my three flowers on it, and the last thing that you want to do is if you want to put something in the middle, you just simply put it on there and glue it and then you can cut it to fit and then I used 28 gauge wire, twist it, put a dollop of hot glue and I have a hanger for my very patriotic red, white and blue any special occasion that is Patriotic Wreath. God Bless America."
