"Hi! This is Ginny with Simply Beautiful Crafts on behalf of Expert Village. Today I am going to show you how to build your basic wreath, candle ring or picture frame out of mini pretzels. If you want to make a picture frame, you need to take the picture that you are going to frame, put it on a piece of waxed paper and outline it. It does not matter if the pen does not work on the wax; you will be able to see the line that you have made. Once you have your outline on your paper, you are going to use your mini pretzels and line them up just overlapping the line that you have made, so that you have what you need for your pretzel frame. You are going to do that all the way around for a picture frame. If you are going to make a candle ring, you are going to do the same thing except you are going to use a candle, and again you are going to put your pretzels around just touching all the way around your candle, so your candle will fit. If you are just going to make a wreath you do not need to measure it. I have wreaths all the way from six pretzel wreaths, seven, eight, nine, and ten pretzels for a wreath. Basically you need to put your pretzels out, touching each other; I like to use seven, which seems to work well for me. You want to put your pretzels salt side down because that will give you your most dramatic effect when you are finished. Let’s count our pretzels one, two, three, four, five, six and seven, okay. You cannot use hot glue for this because it will not stay, the skin of the pretzel will pull away from it. So you want to arrange them so that they are just touching and open up your white glue, good old Elmer’s works well for me, get a bead of glue out and wipe a little stripe between the joints and lift and swipe between the joints and lift all the way around. You are going to do this if you are making a pretzel ring, I mean a candle ring or frame or a wreath. Then you take the next little pretzel and put it salt side down in your hand, put your glue around it and then you are going to overlap a joint of two and lay it down, so now it is salt side up. You are going to continue doing this all the way around and the nice thing about using Elmer’s glue is when you lay it down it moves a little bit, you can reshape it because the glue stays wet, you can continue doing this all the way around until you have gone around your ring and back to the beginning and then again you are going to put your glue in between. When you are finished, you are going to let it set for about 10 minutes and then flip it over and your basic wreath is done. The next step will be sealing your wreath and that is how you make your base for a wreath, candle ring or picture frame out of mini pretzels. "
