"Hi this is Dr. Simcha Shapiro here with Expert Village. Now we're going to talk about an osteopathic technique which many haven't heard of, as if you've probably heard of the other ones. Facilitated Positional Release, this is a technique that even many Osteopaths aren't so familiar with. But is a wonderful technique that was developed by Stanley Shyowitz in the 1970's. And really has its roots going back to Dr. Still. One of the neat things about it is the small amount of force that is needed and the quickness in which this technique affects its change. In fact, many say that Dr. Still probably used a lot of this technique as he was known as the "lightning bone-setter". So, what's involved in the technique is very similar to the one we described earlier called, strain counter strain. And that everything is brought to a place where it is at ease. So, one might bring the shoulder to a point, as in the point that they are working on, and bring it to a place where everything is relaxed and at ease, to the greatest degree possible. Then there will be a small pressure applied at the appropriate place which is stuck. And a movement will be gone through, which is very, very simple, very easy. And that movement, will bring that area that is stuck through the barrier where its stuck and be a really, really effective, sweet technique. I'm going to show you how to do it right now."
