Hi this is Dr. Simcha Shaprio here with Expert Village. Now we're going to be talking about a technique called soft tissue. As we said, it?s very similar to massage in many ways, but, as you're about to see in many ways its very different. So, here I'm working on a patient who has low back pain and spasm in their low back. So what I'm going to do, you'll notice I have the patient on their back, a little unconventional if I'm going to work on their back. Don't you think? Well, once again we're using this concept of long levers. So with that in mind I'd like you to lift your legs up. There we go. I have some long levers right here, some knees. When I move it from side to side it creates movement in the back. I'm going to bring my hand over and put it under his back. Now, when I move his legs, it stretches the muscle over my fingers. In addition, gravity is helping me here. So I don't have to work as hard. So, here I get to use a long lever, small amounts of force make a big difference. And, I can move up and down and release the muscles by fixing the place with my fingers below and then moving over it with the long lever. And that is going to get a great release that's going to help you feel better.
