"Now I want to talk about changing your settings in Google Reader. To do that, if you just go over here to the top right and click settings. These are your Google Reader settings. The first tab is Preferences and you can see you can choose your language and you can choose your start page. I showed you the different views earlier. You could choose your home page which showed you your subscriptions and the last three stories, or the All Items view, Starred Items view, these other views and you can even choose to start on one of your folders or tags. The scroll tracking option, when you're in expanded view and you scroll past a story, reader will mark it as read. If you don't want it to do that, you can uncheck it but I like to keep it on because I usually just kind of scan the stories as I'm scrolling down and I'll read things that are interesting and then tag them or star them or whatever but as I'm going down if I'm not interested, I want it to mark it as red automatically even without clicking on it. The next tab in the settings is subscriptions and we saw this earlier when I showed you how to create a folder. A couple other things you can do here is basically where you can manage your subscriptions. You have some options, you can select all five at once, none, or unassigned and you can apply actions to multiple subscriptions by checking them, going to actions, and then adding one of your tags or folders or removing a tag or folder. You also have the option to rename them right here, to trash them or unsubscribe and then like I showed you earlier to change folders or place into a new folder. You can also filter this by the name tag or URL up here if you've got a ton of feeds, it's just going to go on and on so you could filter to quickly find what you're looking for. The next section is tags where you can manage your tags. You can see it treats folders and tags in kind of the same way. It's just when you're looking on your reader they're a little bit different. Going back to settings and tags, you can see I can do just like with the folders I can check and change the sharing options for all these folders and tags to make them either public or private. By default they're all private, if I wanted to share them I would make them public and we'll talk a little bit more about that later. The next section is Goodies and there's a couple things in here I'm going to talk about later but you can add reader to your personalized Google home page, put reader in a bookmark which I will talk about later, use reader on your phone which I'll talk about later, and then this other bookmark which I'll talk about later. The next option is Import/Export. If you're switching from another feed reader, this is where you could import all your files. You'll want to just check out how to do that right here if you are using another feed reader. Then you've got your Friends tab. Google lets you share with other friends, other Google Reader users so to do that you would want to create your profile and then I'll show you a little bit later how to share things or you could find out right here apparently. Those are your settings in Google Reader."
