"Hi, my name's Elissa with ExpertVillage.com and today I'm going to show you how to crochet a scarf. Now I'm going to show you how you can make a crocheted scarf using this kind of yarn. This is one hundred percent cotton yarn. It's going to be much less fuzzy and much more dense than the acrylic yarn we were using before. It's a little bit harder to work with because it's so much smaller and this is going to make a much thinner scarf with many more stitches. It's going to take a lot of stitches to make a scarf with this thin thread. So, we're going to start off with the slip knot like we did before, crossing your thread over and pulling it through, and put your hook through and pull it tight. And again, with these thinner threads they slip out of your fingers pretty easily so you want to make sure you have a really nice grip. And, I'll show you what these stitches look like. We'll start off with a chain stitch, put your needle over your thread, behind your thread and pull it through. Each stitch is going to be tighter because it's so much narrower and it's going to be much smaller. So, continue on with the chain stitch, put your hook in front of the thread, behind the thread, and pull it through. So you can see that the stitches are going to be so much smaller it's gonna take a lot more yarn to make a scarf with this kind of thread. So, these are what the chain stitches look like with one hundred percent cotton yarn."
