" Hey! My name is Elizabeth and on behalf Expert Village, we’re continuing on in our series of using embossing in card making. Here we have before me a card that I precut and prepared. This is your standard card 4 ¼ by 5 ½. I’ve already put a layered mat on here. What I’m going to do now is take this other piece of cardstock, and I’m going to emboss an image on here. I’m choosing to use a rubber wood mounted stamp. What I will be doing is inking this stamp up in the embossing ink. Just like any other stamping that you do, you want to make sure that you’ve got good ink coverage on the stamp. The next thing you’ll want to do is line the stamp up on the card where you want it to be. You want to place the stamp straight down, press firmly, and come straight up. You’ll always want to check to make sure that the lines look clear, that you embossing ink everywhere that it needs to be. If there are any little holes, if you have an embossing pen this is where is comes in handy. This one looks pretty clear. From here we’re going to move into putting the embossing powder on the image. To do that, we will use a black embossing powder. Just unscrew it, and what you want to do is put a generous amount on. Just sprinkling that everywhere over your stamped image. Once you have that complete, you just want to tap it off. You want to clean up any stray pieces being careful not to smudge the image. From this point, it’s ready for the heat embossing. "
