Trimming Fabrics for a Quilt

"We just trims the dog ears off with our little scissors. And this gets rid of that so it matches our other piece real well. And some people save theses little pieces of fabric and make quilt jelly out of it. You can't eat it though. You put it in a jar; put a lid on it, a nice pretty lid on it. It's called quilt jelly. Now then, we are going to find our strips, we got two strips we got to sew together now. I have these cut here. It's a light and a dark and we are going to sew them 1/4 inch seams. Put our ends together and sew this all the way down. Then we will be cutting this after we stitch this. Okay, we are going to start on our lead fabric, our starter scrap piece of fabric and we are going to sew a 1/4 of an inch all the way down. Keep the edge together. I don't think I mentioned that the block we are working on today is called monkey wrench. When you need to, stop and adjust again so you have your edges together."
