"I am standing here in front of the quilt that we will be making from this book that I talked about. It's called a underground railroad quilt and it has twelve different blocks in it. One of them has the story of the underground railroad. One of the blocks does. The others are pieced and this is set together with three inch sashing. Meaning that you would cut your sashing 12 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches and then you would sew it to each side of your block with a smaller block at each intersection of the sashing that is 3 1/2 inch square and it is finished 3 inch square. The border on it is 8 inches and you would have to measure the center of your quilt to see how long your side borders need to be and then the crossway center of your quilt to see about the top and bottom what length you needed on that. Then once you get that done, you can machine quilt it or had quilt it. This is one is done by machine, long arm machine quilted. Then you put a, when you are through with that just square your corners up, make your quilt square and put your binding on there. And your are finished with your quilt."
