"On behalf of Expert Village. I am Emily DeCola. I am here at the Puppet Kitchen in New York City and we re going to talk about marionettes. Particularly with marionettes for me. Now I?ve design puppets for a living and performed as a puppeteer and direct theatrical and film and TV projects that involve puppetry. I build marionettes for me for the most part. Which is partially because they take so long to get right? You really want to find tune the marionettes. They're like violins. The movement can be so precise and so beautiful. That really takes a long time to get there. Like this puppet for example I started in 2005. It's 2007 and I don t think I m finished. But when I start building a marionette I don t start with the story in mind. I don t build marionettes for me to fit into a script. I start with an idea and everything else comes out of that. On behalf of Expert Village thank you for watching."
