"On behalf of Expert Village. I am Emily DeCola. I am here at the Puppet Kitchen in New York City and we re going to talk about marionettes. If so this is not necessarily the easiest way to perform this puppet but it s kind of the most fun for this moment right now because we both get to be the in the same scene. As I mentioned before the scarf puppets are incredibly simple. All that s involved are those four strings, two pieces of wood on the control, five wooden balls, one for each of the hands and the fee and a larger one for the head and a piece of fabric. It s an incredibly simple puppet which doesn?t mean that it can t be incredibly expressive. Rosser is really a wonderful performer with this technique. Another wonderful performer is Robin Walsh. Who is a Los Angeles based puppeteer with whom I studied at Studio Roeser in Stutgard in 2004 and 2005. Robin has taken the ball and string puppet, the scarf puppet. Sometimes called the ball and string puppet. And elevated her performance with it into. You know a really wonderful art form."
