"Hi, my name is Dan Kimbrough on behalf of expertvillage.com, in this clip we are going to discuss throwing a game in order to make the other team sandbag. When playing spades, sandbagging is when you accumulate too many extra books because you under bid. It may get you a point that the other team has a pretty hecked lead on you but they have 9 sandbags if you are playing with the accumulate of sandbag rule. This may be a point in time which you and your partner not talking but decide that you are going to throw a game. If you are playing in your hand and you could feasibly take a book but that book could set them over and make them loose a 100 points, it may be worth it to let it go. You may loose whatever you bid but there also going to loose a 100 points because they have sandbagged. It is not a technique you want to use often but sometimes if it is a close game and you could knock them down a 100 and you only loose 50 for not getting what you bid, it may work out to even it out a little bit, even put you ahead. Again that is not a strategy that you want to use often but sometimes it does come in handy. "
