"DAVID A. CLEMEN: Okay, welcome back. Now that I have my pieces cut, I'm just going to sew these two together and I want the light base to be the middle color. So, I'm doing the dark red next to the base. And I'm sewing with white thread and I've added in a 1/2-inch seam allowance. So, I'm just going to come in here and I'll start sewing around the back stitch. And then, some people like to pin the fabric together, and some people will baste it but I will just like to hold the two edges together and just use the guide marks that's on the machine. Now, I'm not going too fast here and then if you see it sliding, just stop. And also, I recommend leaving the needle down so it doesn't slide off. And then once you get it back to where you need it, just continue on, okay? Sliding on me a little. All right. Halfway there. And once you to get to the end, just do a back stitch and that's sewing our first piece together."
