How to Build a Wall-Hanging Frame

"DAVID A. CLEMEN: Hey, welcome back. Now, that we've gone over the supplies, these are your typical canvass stretcher frames and basically, they come precut and they're notched out and so I'm going to take one of the long pieces and then I'm going to take one of the short pieces and basically, these grooves are set up to where we'll enter lock and then you just slowly slide them in and they're cut in the corners at a 45-degree angle. Take that piece of paper out of there. So, once you get this slid in, you move on to the next one. So, I'm going to take the other long piece and I'm just going to set this down. I'm going to put this one end slowly and then you want to try and get the corners flush. If you don't push it all the way in--and I'll try and get it to--you'll have this piece sticking out. You want to get the cut so they can be flush. And that's what you're looking for for flush corners. And then for the last one, I'll just take this here and take this piece of tag off and then slowly insert this side and then now, the last one gets a little tricky 'cause it wants to shift. But if you get them flushed and when you get to put this one, you'll have to back this out a little bit and this one will spread. But once we get this in here, then we can go ahead and flush up all the corners. Okay? I got that. I got that. And just go around each corner and make sure they're flush and then we've got our frame that will eventually become one of these fabric pieces."
