"My name is Dave Jackal and I am going to speak to you about stretching. Stretching may seem trivial and may seem like a waste of time but actually if you are a performer, especially a singer, stretching is critical. If you go onto stage and you haven't properly stretched you may feel very uncomfortable doing certain positions moving around like that or this or leaning forward, whatever you have to do. In that process if you aren't properly stretched, it is going to compromise your performance. So make sure that before you before you do a show, you stretch. One thing you want to do is get your arms up as much as you can possibly can. You want to open up your chest, open up your ridge cage so that you can get lots of air in there. The more air you have to work with the more energy you will have on stage. Always practice things like this, roll your arms back, pull your shoulders back, hold onto your elbows, also you want to bend forward and make sure your back is nice and loose. See if you can touch your toes. I can't do it but if you can its great. Remember if you have any kind of physical problem on stage, it is going to affect your performance. It doesn't matter how slight it is, it will take you by surprise, knock you off balance and if it hurts your voice, it affects everything that you are doing, so make sure you stretch. "
