"My name is Dave Jackal and I am going to give you some advice on how to hold and handle your microphone. Now if you are an active performer like me, you don't want to just stand here holding your microphone the whole time. It looks kind of ridiculous. There is really no reason to hold it since it's on a stand. So what you do is you make sure that you can move your microphone off easily. Nothing looks more amateur than if you are struggling with your mike trying to get it off the stand. So before you play a show, make sure that you can get your mike off smoothly, easily so it looks professional and fluid. "
