How to Weave a Pattern into a Plain Rug

"Hi, this is Debbie and I'm here with expert village, explaining how to do a rag rug on a handmade loom. Right now, what we want to do is take it back from where we have a pattern having every other thread on the warp be up again. And I'm going to go ahead and just lay this in so that I've got the thread in like this, tuck it behind, okay. Now we're going to go here.... So we're going to go back to where we are. We want the one that's underneath on top and the one that's on top underneath. That one's on top, so we want it underneath, so we're going to bring this one up. That one is the one underneath. Sometimes it's just a little hard to see but if you go down here you can see it. And just make sure that it's the right thread. Now we want to untwist that. And now here's where we're back to the three. Okay, when we go down here, this one goes over here, that one goes over there and this one's the one that's actually on top. So we're splitting them back up into onesies. And we don't want to push them too far down because it won't be held up there. Okay, here we have it; this one's the one that we want on top. Okay, we want this one.... this one was underneath so this one's on top. So there is a trick to this. So that one stays underneath, and this one is on top. And you can see that we're starting to get our regular weave back. If there's a mistake, it's really easy to just pull it back out and redo it. You can look at the back and make sure that it's right."
