" Hi! I’m Debbie with Expert Village.com. We are going to do some more thumbprint art with your young crafter and some things you can do with it to make some really, really cute gifts for your family. One of my favorites is to make picture frames; of course, what family member does like is a precious picture of their baby, so you can buy already made little picture frames. This happens to be the foamed variety, different colors, buy pre-made mats at the craft store or your framing store, fairly inexpensively or you can just make your own and cut them out on tag board. Mother’s Day is the day that I really like to do these and make a precious picture of the child and let them pick a thumb print to put on a frame. This one I have already printed it for us and we are going to do a little bumblebee, so again look at our examples I talk about; bumblebees are insects, how many legs they have, how many antennas they have, he needs a stinger, he needs three stripes and a face so talk about that with your child before they start actually using the marker. So we are going to do our little legs and then we are going to do our little stinger and I sometimes will draw these off for the kids, and just let them color them in. Sometimes that’s just kind of hard to get that spacing right. And then our Mr. Bumble Bee has wings, then we need a face; this is a silly bumble bee so we are giving him a little face and two antennas. Okay, you might want to make a little trail where he has been flying. Then if you want to write a date when your child made it, or Happy Mother’s Day or Happy Grandparent’s Day, you can write that right there. I usually like to let the kids sign it either here on the front or on the back, so it will make it a little more personal. If you want to do it on this kind of mat, probably the markers work a little bit better on this kind of mat, let us do butterfly. Again especially on a gift like this, you are going to want to hold your baby’s hand while they are doing the printing, so we don’t have any boo boos, then talk about again what we need. We need two antennas on our butterfly, we need a little face, you can decorate those wings a little bit, dots, circles, stripes, however they want to do it, and then we can make some little dots for the trail, and then of course you want to date it, and got a nice little Mother’s Day frame, all ready for a precious picture.
