How to Thread a Needle

"GRACE FRAGA: We already the picked the threads that are going to go in each patch. For the fish--that I call the fish. CHANTELLE TIBBS: Yeah. GRACE FRAGA: We picked the olive green and for the Redistribute, the orange. CHANTELLE TIBBS: Yup. GRACE FRAGA: So, now--next, what are you going to teach us? CHANTELLE TIBBS: I'm going to teach you how to put the needle--the thread in the needle. And there's two different ways to do it. So, I'm going to cover those two ways. GRACE FRAGA: Wonderful. So, that's coming up next. MAN: Okay, let's go and action. GRACE FRAGA: So, Chantelle, we already picked the colors. And now, it's time to put thread to the needle. CHANTELLE TIBBS: Okay. Well, what I've done here is I put it through. This is the needle and it's got thread in it. GRACE FRAGA: Okay. CHANTELLE TIBBS: That's our olive for the fish. GRACE FRAGA: So, it's just your regular--the regular way to do it 'cause you were talking about a double thread? CHANTELLE TIBBS: You can put that through but what it will do is it'll come through quadruple. What you want to do is you want to put the thread and pull it all the way down. GRACE FRAGA: Okay. CHANTELLE TIBBS: that way, when I'm threading it's reinforced. GRACE FRAGA: Okay. CHANTELLE TIBBS: So, you have two strands of thread as opposed to one. That's how mama taught me how to do it so that's how I grew up--about doing it. If you want, you can even put a piece of thread and then tie it around but you're only going to have one strand. But if you're thinking about using two different colors of threads then you could put in through, pull it, put it through, tie it up here and then put another one through and tie it up here. That way, you'll have two strands like this but they'll both come out as two different colors. GRACE FRAGA: Okay. CHANTELLE TIBBS: So, this is the way that it doubles so you can use it to reinforce it and not to be, you know, too anal here. You don't have to. But what's cool about reinforcing it is overtime, in the washer, wear and tear with clothes and such and such, you're going to make sure that these patches--your shirt stays 3D. GRACE FRAGA: Great, alright so... CHANTELLE TIBBS: So, yeah, that's it. GRACE FRAGA: Great, alright. So, next we are going to start sewing."
