"GRACE FRAGA: And now, the next step is to design some patches and cut off an old T-shirt that you don't wear anymore like this one which is one of my T-shirts that you can get on my website at GraceComedian.com. I have several T-shirts but this is an old one. I've been wearing it long so we are going to draw on it and cut some patches. CHANTELLELE TIBBS: I just want to point out that this is an Anvil T-shirt and this is the same brand that I was saying that I really like. GRACE FRAGA: See? I knew it somehow. CHANTELLE TIBBS: Yeah. GRACE FRAGA: Very cool. So, now, what do we do? We draw first or do we cut it first? CHANTELLE TIBBS: We draw first... GRACE FRAGA: Okay. CHANTELLE TIBBS: ...then we cut around it. Well, if you don't want to cut something and then have to like distort the image to fit what you've cut, what you want is--you want all the space that you have so you know you're drawing exactly what you want and you're taking up as much space as you want and--yeah. I mean--wait, you'll also want a ruler too if you are the kind of person that likes to do things by the book and if you're the kind of designer that likes to measure things out and that's totally cool. I've already seen the shirt. I know exactly how my image--how I want it to be. And again, I've been doing this for a while, so that's just my process. Your process can be whatever it is but right now, we're going to draw what I would like to see on the shirt, on the patches and we're going to do that now and we're going to do with a fabric marker. Crayola actually makes a fabric marker. They market towards kids, that's actually really good. A lot of folks I know use Sharpies and it works, for whatever reason it works. I like to use fabric markers just to make sure that--I'm using fabric markers but sharpies are actually one of the best. GRACE FRAGA: The fabric markers stay longer? CHANTELLE TIBBS: It's not going--it's not going anywhere. GRACE FRAGA: Yeah, that's what I was thinking. These are like, if you wash it on the washing machine, what happens? It kinda fades a little bit? CHANTELLE TIBBS: It kinda fades a little bit. GRACE FRAGA: Okay. CHANTELLE TIBBS: And you know what? Another thing too, if you want to do this, you could always draw over it and then you could paint over it as well. So, if you want a double layer --so, yeah, let's get started drawing. GRACE FRAGA: Great."
