"GRACE FRAGA: Chantelle is going to help us figure out who we designed this for, what our market is. CHANTELLE TIBBS: Okay. So, you know, what are you? Are you a person who's making a t-shirt for your friend? Are you a person who's making a t-shirt for yourself? Are you a person that's starting your own business and you want to create a market? Well, if you're doing that, then I highly recommend that you pick up a few magazines and start doing your research. But, more importantly, who is this shirt for? What is the purpose of making this shirt? If this is a point or a shirt that you're making and you really, seriously, want to sell 600 copies in a year, then have you created something that's easy to screen print? Have you thought about the colors that are done? In this design that we did, we have two colors here. Remember, if you want a shirt that's 600--to run 600 or even if you decide to screen print yourself, two colors mean two stencils. Two stencils are--or if you're screen printing 600, that means two colors or two screens, which is going to run you more expensive than one color would. So you want to really sit down and think about what--who have you designed this shirt for and what is working and what doesn't? Have you drawn this intricate picture with all these colors that you're not going to be able to execute yourself, or have you designed something on the computer that you're like, "Yeah," and now you don't know how to print it? Do you have any ideas to get this design onto a t-shirt? I mean, this is how you design a t-shirt. So you want to make sure, double check, make sure that your design works for you and that you know exactly who you're marketing towards and everything works well, like everything's flowing. GRACE FRAGA: Great. So who is this for? CHANTELLE TIBBS: I would just make--you know, I don't know yet. It's my company so I might think of something. But right now, I think this is just a shirt for me and you. GRACE FRAGA: That's just for us, yes. So, great. So, what is the next step? CHANTELLE TIBBS: The next step, we're going to sit down and we're going to think about--we're going to look at everything and assess what works physically and what really doesn't, design-wise. GRACE FRAGA: Great. So that's coming up next."
