Video Transcript

" Hello, my name is Chris Conklin on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this segment we are going to be talking about types of body shots. Now when we talk about body positions, remember it is the vision that you have created and the plan that you set out for, the story that you are trying to tell, and following that story from the beginning to the middle until the end. Now feet, that is a particular aspect that a lot of people either use or they do not use, because sometimes it can be a little bit awkward. Now one of the things that you do want to try to avoid is a flat on center shot; you do not want to have that just like up against a wall where there is no depth, it is just flat, there is no emotion, and it is just kind of dry. If you have to use something that is against a basic background or some kind of a drop, then you want to have them positioned at an angle, like a 45 degree angle, and then tilt the head over a bit or use the arms as an example. The only time that you really want to use a full body shot is, if it is pretty much…so like for a portrait or a glamour; you are trying to show the full background, you are trying to show a contrast between the individual and a specific object. Otherwise, usually you are talking about a closer shot, three quarter half or a close up shot of different types. "
