" Hello, I’m Chris Conklin on behalf of expertvillage.com. Many of you may or may not have heard of the rule of thirds or know exactly what it is. It is actually a widely ignored and misunderstood tool and a rule of the trade. Now basically what we are talking about here applies to photographs, videos and motion picture and film. It is also known widely in the industry as framing, so if you are out there and somebody says your picture is not in frame or you need to frame your picture, they are actually referring to the rule of thirds. So when we look at the rule of thirds, you are actually just taking your grid like a tic-tac toe board in three different sections of your screen. You take the first section or the top corner or that particular row that is your first third, your second would be the next column down or that particular aspect, and the third would be that column or the far right spectrum. It also works in the horizontal mode with the first, second and third planes if you will across the way, and now what exactly you are looking for is the particular aspects that coincide with the junctions of those thirds, the first third, the second third, the third or the first, second and third.
