" So once your center fuse stops spinning your remove your crucible by sliding it away from the flask and then pick your flask up. This is what you want to see, this is what we call a button in jewelry terms. It’s basically a little extra metal you throw with your original amount to create a push to make sure that it goes completely to the back of the mold. So now that I’ve removed my flask from the center fuse the metal’s been inserted and I’m going to clinch it in water, the white power that you see is called investment. That’s going to completely dissipate in water. Move it fro side to side to really clean that fro the metal. Of course there’s going to be a little more cleanup once you remove your piece. And this here is how I’ve made my sterling silver ring. I could also make this in gold or bronze, whatever you choose although bronze is not a good material for jewelry. We then take an old toothbrush and clean the surface of your metal. It comes out looking very dark sometimes, like you can see here. It’s not like you see many times in stores. The first of many steps to creating your ring. Clean it off a little so you can see what we have here. Basically that is your casting. "
