Jewelry making kit

"Hi I’m Courtney Gray and we’re here at Hard Core Studios. I’m going to show you how to make a basic jewelry making kit for a friend or family member. Depends on where you want to go with it, if you want to go a little more advanced we’ll get into that a little bit later. To begin I would suggest getting some basic cord string which you can find at your local bead store. There’s sources online, all sorts of places you can find different types of string, thickness and color. You usually want to use the color of your beads the same color string and silk or nylon, steel string, there’s all types of different options there. You probably want to get some clasps for your ends to close it off and make that mechanism. Some crimp beads which are basically to tie off your string at the end to tie off your string at the end before tying on your clasp. There’s all sorts of other components you can use, jump rings to connect the piece itself and many many options for clasps; double string different things like that. It’s nice to get a good assortment together. Give them some options to play with. Then I would suggest maybe hitting your local bead store for different strands, different colors style of gemstones, beads, amber, different things. This is carnelian there’s all sorts of things they could play with to begin and that will basically get you started. You would also need some round nose pliers, which you could also find at your local bead store. They have a small round tip that tapers at the end for closing jump rings, wire working, things like that. Flat nose pliers are also very handy to have just to hang on to smaller components and then you would need some snits. I suggest getting a really good pair of snits you want them really sharp and tapered at the end to cut off wire and keep it from catching on clothing, hair things like that."
