"My name is Courtney Hester on behalf of Expert Village and in this clip we're going to be making a toy soldier. We're going to start with a round top clothespin and we're going to need to paint the top part for a shirt, red. Once you've painted the top part red, we need to give him pants by painting the bottom part of this clothespin black. Now that we've done that, we're going to give our soldier some arms and we're going to use some black felt. We're going to take the black felt and I'm just going to fold it in half and we're going to cut around a couple of ovals to make arms. Now that we've cut our ovals, we need to glue them to the side of our soldier. Next we're going to use some gold cord to decorate the side of his pants. I'm going to take the gold cord and measure next to the side and cut it the appropriate length. Then once we've done that, we're going to take some glue and glue them to the sides. The next thing we're going to do is give our toy soldier his hat. Now we're going to start by doing the strap first. So we're going to take our gold cord and we're going to kind of wrap it around the front and then we're going to put down the gold cord and I made myself a little extra so that I wouldn't have to put my fingers in the glue. Now that we have the strap down, it's time to do the top part of the hat. You're going to take a black pompom and glue it to the top, like so. We're going to hold it there a second. Next thing we're going to do is add the top part to the hat and we're going to do that using the small red pompom. Next we want to give our toy soldier a face and some buttons on his shirt and we're going to do that just using a marker. Now we have our toy soldier, we can turn him into an ornament by adding a hook to the back. We're going to do that using our gold cord and we're going to make it into a loop, kind of touching the ends together and then we're going to glue that to the back of our toy soldier. We're going to glue this towards right under his head, put some glue and we're going to hold the ends into the glue until the glue is set. Our toy soldier is ready to be hung on the Christmas tree or anywhere else you'd like to hang it."
