Starting Row 1 of Basket Weave Crochet Pattern

"Now that we have our first initial chain. Remember it was 9 plus 2 which made it 11 but the last two chains are going to be what goes vertical for our pattern. So to create our first row what we're going to do is with our loop on our needle we're going to count back 2 chains. 1, 2 and then we're going to wrap yarn around our needle and we're going to take our needle underneath this second chain right here. We'll just push it through. It gets a little bit difficult because our first chain is flimsy. And there we go. It's underneath that chain. And we're going to pull our yarn underneath that chain and we've got three loops sitting on our needle. And we're going to pull it through the first two and now we're going to pull yarn through the second two. And we have our first double crochet column. And you'll see that there's this little curved extra bit on the edge? That's fine. Don't worry about it. This is what is going to be the end. And we're going to straighten this out later as we add our next row. But for this first row you just want to keep going under each chain. Make sure you don't skip any. It's very important. The count is very important on this pattern. You want to go underneath your chain, pull it up, go through the first two and through the second two. And you want to work it all the way down our first chain."
