"What I'm getting ready to show you now is how to do a trim in a single crochet. Even though a pattern like this utilizes the double crochet throughout, when it comes to a trim or adding or starting a new color you can switch it out for the single crochet, because whenever we finish a project like this we always have this wonderful row of chains at the end. Now, from where we started it doesn't look that way, but we can go ahead and just stick our needle through where we need to create the same effect. So, with our loop in our needle from attaching our new color we're going to make one chain and then we're not going to wrap any yarn around because we're not doing a double we're doing a single. So, you're just going to stick your needle through where ever you can because we just because this is the beginning and not the end so we don't have those happy chains to make it easy. So, we pull our yarn up and we've got two loops and you're going to pull yarn through those two and there we go we've made our first one. Now, when it comes to where we have our stacks going it makes it a little bit easier because you can just stick it right in the front of that stack right there which has its own neat little loop like that. You're just going to pull your yarn through right there, careful not to split any yarns. Just work your hook around. Then you're going to pull your yarn through those two. There we go. See with this, this kind of eliminates the air so this is a neat way to add a trim to it because it's such a tight trim on such an airy and holey scarf. We are going to continue this until we get to the end and I'll show you how to edge it up. We're going to go ahead and continue and start working on the next row."
