"What I'm getting ready to show you how to do now is a trim that you can put on the edge of your scarf. Also this is the same technique you're going to want to use if you want to trade out your colors and create a stripped, across patterns as you're working down your scarf. This is very simple. Just as with most crocheting projects switching out your colors is very easy. Just if; you're just adding a trim and not alternating colors too frequently within your scarf it's again very simple to do. You can make your trim either one row, like I have right here, or you can keep it going as far as you want in case you wanted a nice big dipped looking piece at the end. It's really up to you. That's what's so great about crochet is the creative freedom that it gives you. Again, because it is so easy to change your colors especially with this particular pattern, because it's so holey and it doesn't use a whole lot of yarn you can take, even if you have scraps left over from different pieces you've been working on. This is a great way to work them into something big. You can take a scarf like this and do multiple rows of different colors just to create something kind of fun and really utilize those pieces that got left over from what you were doing before."
