Crochet: Start Level 1 of Granny Square

"Okay now we are getting ready to work to add to create the meet of our first level. What we are going to do is we have this loop left over from where we connected the two sides. We are going to wrap the yarn around the middle and pull it through once, pull it through twice because we are going to do the double crochet around. Now what you are going to do is take the yarn around and go through the middle of your hole and then pull one more piece of yarn all the way through to where you have your three on your needle, take another piece of yarn through your first two, another piece of yarn through your second two and you see we have got our first two columns. Now we are going to wrap it around through the middle, pull it through, pull that yarn through the first two and then through the second two. We will do that one more time. Wrap it around through the middle, through the first two, through the second two. This is our section of four. This is the four pattern on our granny square and to get to our next section what we are going to do is we are going to make a chain of two, one, two. Then we will start our second one, wrap it around, go under, pull it through, through the first two and through the second two and you are going to create four more and you are going to continue to do this until we get to our next break and we will chain two one more time."
