Summary: Working from the crochet chain, it's time to add your second level, the single crochet. Learn how to crochet a bag from start to finish in this free crafts video.
"Now that we have our chain as our base what I am going to show you now is our single crochet and this is where we go back over our base chain to create our second level. Now that we have our loop what you are going to do is take your needle right here underneath which looks to be like this first braid. You are going to take your needle through both of those, make sure your yarn is tight and you pull this yarn underneath those two and then grab your yarn and pull it through your two loops and that is or first one. Then you are going to go underneath the next which looks like a braid. Make sure that you get your yarn under both of them. If you are having trouble going from the top sometimes what I do is I go underneath and grab that one stitch that is underneath so my needle is under both of those, pull that yarn through and then pull my yarn through the two loops and that is a single crochet. You will see that it creates little columns as you go along and you kind of have that same V effect right there on the side and on the top you will see it also recreates the same original pattern of the loops going down also in a V."
