" You know stenciling does not always involve walls or boxes or paper bags. It can also involve food. Now I like to stencil cakes. It gives it a little added flair and it is just fun to experiment with. Today we have a cake that we have made, one layer. It is a dark cake and we are using our confectioner sugar. We use the stencil that we made homemade out of our manila folder for a pumpkin so we can use this for Halloween or for Thanksgiving. I am just placing our little template right on top of the cake here. You can center it or put it off to the side. I have a strainer here and I have our white confectioner sugar so I am just going to place it right over the template like this. This is a fun project for children. Just hold it down so that it gets in all the little corners. This is a good project for the kitchen area and just sprinkle over like this. Try to get in all the little corners. It’s a project if you mess up you can eat the results and start all over again. Sprinkle all around into all the little corners and this manila template that we have made we can use again. All we have to do is just wipe it off and use it again. I am going to put this to the side, want to gently lift this up like so and there we have our cake with our pumpkin. "
