"Hi this is Brenda and today we are working on our pop-up cards. This project takes some 5 x 8 index cards. It is a heavy card stock material. We use our glue, our markers, our scissors, Exacto knife, and acrylic paint if you like rubber stamps or stickers. Now we take one of our index cards and we fold it in half like this. We take our scissors; make a cut about an inch down like this. Doesn’t have to exactly an inch but that is what I like to work with. You open it up and we just begin to kind of fold it around and make it pliable. Our little shelf comes out like this. This is where we are going to be placing a little picture later on. This is going to be an invitation to a party so you can cut out pictures from a magazine or clip-art or you can use your rubber stamp and stamp an item, cut out and paint it and you will be gluing it right here. You can write your message here about your party, day and the time. This is a finished product of our card and it says come to my party. I just cut out a little doll with a hat on top and it says the date and the time. I used my calligraphy pen down here. I also have a sheet of paper to cover up so that you can’t see the back side. It is the same size as the index card 5 x 8 and we will be placing that here and gluing that on. This sheet back here can be another color if you like and that is good contrasting idea. You can place it here and glue it on. As you can see from the side when the card is opened, a little picture pops out at you and gets your attention and you just fill out the rest of the card. "
