"Over the next few lessons, I want to teach you two simple songs that you can play on the accordion. We are going to start with Mary Had a Little Lamb, a nursery rhyme, just because it is simple, and most people know the melody, so you can kind of figure out if you forget what I tell you where it is on the keyboard. First we start with E. The way we find E if you recall C is the white key next to the group of two black keys. I am going to start down here on this low E. You could start on this E. It doesn’t matter, either one or what is comfortable for you, and it sounds like this. E, D, C, D, E, E, E, and I am just gently pushing the billows. It doesn’t take much. D, D, D, E, G, G. Please take note of my fingering as well. I have my middle finger on the E and index finger on the D. Thumb on C. So I never have to move my arm. All I am moving is my fingers. Let’s do that one more time. E, D, C, D, E, E, E, D, D, D, E, G, G. The only button that I am not touching is F. Fourth finger is just hanging out there. E, D, C, D, E, E, E. Here’s the end of it. E, D, D, E, D, C. I’ll play it one time quick in the timing that it should be. Next we will talk about playing the bass side of Mary Had a Little Lamb."
