" Hi! I’m Candi Cane-Canncel on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip I’m going to show you how to attach your pocket to your apron. Now for this apron you want to figure out placement of your pocket, some people like it just in the center or maybe you want it out to the right or out to the left, it’s totally your preference, I’m going to do mine off to the right side. So what I’m going to do is just basically kind of place it around and see where it looks best and you don’t really have to measure it’s totally accordingly to your own preference. Once I figure out where I like it I’m just going to simple pin the pocket to my apron and you want to make sure that when you’re pinning that you keep it as straight as possible so that way your pocket doesn’t end up tilted to the side or something funny like that. Also keep in mind one of our sides is open because when we stitched the pocket originally and turned it inside out we had to leave one side open to turn it. So with that you just want to make sure that the underneath is not sticking out or anything just make sure that it’s pinned flushed to your apron. So I have the pocket pinned and I doubled checked that it’s straight, it looks pretty straight to me so I’m going to go ahead and stitch about a quarter of an inch in all the way around the pocket. We’re going to start at one corner and again go down, turn the fabric in the machine, stitch, go up and then turn the fabric into the machine again. And when you’re stitching something like this, this decorative again you want to take your time because it becomes part of the design element, so you want to make sure that your stitching is as straight and clean as possible. Once you have your pockets stitched in place you just want to go ahead and trim any of the extra little threads and take out your pins…and wa-la.
