Attach the Tie: Pinning & Sewing

" Hi! I’m Candi Cane-Canncel on behalf of expertvillage.com. So to attach your tie to your apron you’re going to find the center again with the opening and as well find the center of your apron. Just fold it over…and just stick a pin, so you line up the center of your tie to the center of your apron and you’re going to open up the opening, stick the apron in, fold it over and then you’re going to pin. One thing to keep in mind is as you’re pinning make sure that the stitches that you used to create your gathers are fully enclosed inside of your apron tie so that we don’t see them. So I finished pinning in my apron to my apron tie and now what I’m going to do is starting at one side I’m going to stitch all the way across, so that one side from the other and that way it’ll enclose the apron inside of the apron tie. And you just want to use about a 3 to 3 ½ stitch length you don’t need anything much smaller than that and because the stitch will be visible on the outside you want to go as slow and even as possible so that it looks pretty. Now when you start stitching where the pins are just keep an eye out that the machine is sliding over the pins if you don’t feel comfortable with that you can always pull them out as you go to the stitch.
