" Hi! I’m Candi Cane-Canncel on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this clip I’m going to show you how to cut out the pieces for your apron. So I determined I want my apron to be 15 inches long by 24 inches wide. So what I do is take my fabric and just basically measure out the width and I just take a piece of taylor’s chalk and just make a mark and I go all the way down and then I go all the way across. Once you get your measurements chalked on then it’s time to cut it out. Now if you feel more comfortable you can just draw a line all the way across if you’re not really sure you know about your measuring abilities, it’s always a good idea to measure twice and cut once. So I have a basic piece cut out the next thing I need to cut out is the tie, we’re going to be making a tie in the same exact fabric. Now to determine the length of your tie you want to go all the way around your waist and double the measurement, depending how wide you want your tie done to tie in the back. So for this particular project I’m going to do a 3 inch wide tie that goes about 60 inches that way I have plenty in the back to tie into a bow. The last thing we’re going to need to cut out for this project is a pocket, now normally when you do a pocket you’re going to be interfacing it, but because this fabric is so shear we’re going to use this same exact fabric as a self lining pocket. So I’m going to make my pocket about the a little larger than my hand so I’m going to make it about 5 inches long by about 4 inches wide and you’re going to be cutting out two pieces that way that size. So just measure it out and just double the number and cut out. For more info on this project feel free to check out my website it’s candiland.com."
