"Hi welcome back to Expert Village. Today's focus is on the calf so I just wanted to explain to you the different muscles that attributes to the calf muscle. A lot of people think it is this muscle right here. This kind of muscle that kind of much larger then the bottom part of the leg. Well really this right here is the gastrocnemius it separates into 2 muscles. Same muscles but it separates into 2 parts. Okay laterally, medially, right, left which ever one you want to prefer it to. Then that attaches to the soleus. That is where the muscle begins to become a tendon. Then as you come to the bottom part of the leg you have the Achilles tendon the most venerable part of your calf and your leg. Okay that is connecting from your calf muscles to the base of your heel or your foot. So we are going to focus basically on those 3 muscles and tendons today. Then if you can see this muscle along here okay we would call your shin. We can definitely go into more detail later about that. But this right here is going to be the last thing we are going to focus on because it is the intangible muscle to the calf. It is probably what causes most calf problem cause it is a very tense shin."
