"Another reason you might need holes will be if you have several pieces of leather you're going to assemble into a project. This is a knife sheath kind of project here. There are holes in it where your stitching lines goes through. A lot of wallet projects and purses and things like that certainly you need to punch those holes ahead of time so you can stitch them up. I don't have an example of that tool here, but they do sell tools that look kind of like a fork with several little individual punches in them. What you do with that is you lay it down against the leather and whack it hard with your mallet, and then move it out and whack it again. Each time you hit it, you're making 4, 5, 6 different holes That's one way to do it. If you just need to make a few holes, you can buy a tool like this. This is a leather punch. You can get these at discount hardware stores. You don't really have to go to a letter supplier, but this works basically like a paper hole punch. It has 6 different settings here, as you can see, for 6 different size holes. Right now, it's on the smallest one here. When you close it, you can see that the little hole punch comes up against this little brass plate. All you really need to do is case leather up. This leather is already wet. I'm going to just pick a place for my hole. I'm gong to squeeze it until I kind of hear it cut. There it went. You hear that little pop. Bring it up and there it is. I have a hole in the leather and I can make as many of those as I want."
