"You can also get patterns that are, that are prepared in such a way, that they're actually engraved kind of into a sheet of clear plastic like this. You probably can't see it on camera, but the, there's actually these little raised ridges here everywhere you see a line in this design. So the way you use something like this is, if you're interested in cutting a pattern like that, rather than going over it with a stylus, what you can do is, case out your leather like I done here, we're going to place this kind of face down on the leather, and then you use something like, you can use a wooden spoon or you can use maybe the end of your mallet, if you have the right kind of mallet. Basically what you want to do is just, with your leather cased out well, just kind of really, kind of rub over this whole design sort of firmly. Again, with kind of the textured side of this template down, I don't know if my mallet is going to be doing the trick, I think it should be. You really want to kind of apply good pressure making sure that the tool doesn't move around. But these tools are made in such a way, kind of a hard plastic with those raised ridges, that if you do this right and you pick it up, yeah, there it is. Pick it up. Now we have that design in our leather. So we've kind of taken a short cut to getting the design there without having to use the stylus. So then the next thing you do now, would be to take the knife and start cutting all these lines and get it ready for beveling."
