"Stop, perfect. So now we have a really large ball of glass with that gorgeous feathery pattern on it. We are going to go over the knock off station and we are going to put a patch on it with a fancy design. So before I do that I have to just give it a little bit of a flash and my assistant will bring me a hot gather of fresh glass out of the furnace. The reason for the patch that as you can see when I take this piece off of the pipe there is a whole left in it and that hole is sharp. Come straight on over. Come on. There you go. So it is basically just a fresh pot gather of glass. Not too much or too little. And then I have the stamp that I am going to press onto the top of it and it makes sort of a star pattern which just adds a little visual “je ne sais quoi”. So just like all the other pieces that we’ve made today and at the end of the day we have poured into the annealer so that it can cool down slowly overnight so that it doesn’t crack.
