Joining Pipe Cleaners

" Hi this is Andrew Jenkins on behalf of expertvillage.com. Now today I'm going to be talking about pipe cleaners crafts specifically joining pipe cleaners together to make a longer pipe cleaner. Now when you first get your pipe cleaners they are traditionally about 12 inches long and this works great for a lot of basic crafts but sometimes you are going to want you pipe cleaner to be a little longer. Now it is a very easy skill. You just take 2 pipe cleaners together and you cross them so you have about 1 inch sticking out from either side and then you take the pipe cleaners and just twist them around. Right like this. I'm using 2 different colors here so you could see exactly what is going on. If you use one color it blends together really well and just bend it over so you got it like that. You got sort of a three fold it looks like a Y shape if you hold it upside down. Bend the short part of it over to one of the other long end and twist that around just like you did before. Now you got this great long pipe cleaner it is going to be around 22 inches in length. Then if you want to continue going on with the skill you could even turn it around and do the same thing to the other end. This makes a very nice circle if you want to sort of make a halo. You have a kid who is in a play a school play or a church play you could start doing something like that or if you want to create wings for a bumble bee or something you got a circle and then you could just flip it over twist of the middle and you are ready to go."
