"In this step we're actually going to wash the quilt and what this will do is it turns it from just a flat seam into kind of a fluffy and soft seam. So we'll wash it and dry it. So it's cotton, so we're going to wash it on, with cold water and we'll place it in here, in the tumbling action and the agitation action work well to help fluff it up, so to speak, in the seams. You can do this at home or you can do it in a commercial washer; it's a pretty big quilt, it weighs about 14 pounds, the one that we have made and so it might do better in a commercial washer. Okay, let's set the washing machine. We're going to set it on normal today for a normal wash and as I've mentioned we'll place it on cold and on this particular machine we have spin speed and we have it next to extra high options, so we're going to use the extra high, because that help fluff up the quilt a little bit more and get some of the fraying fibers out of that. The washing cycle is complete. I've already put the quilt into the dryer, let's close it up and set it to dry. Let me stop this for a moment; it's only been going for about 5 or 10 minutes, and, but what you need to do as you're letting this dry, is make sure you check your filter out. As you can see after just a little while, we've really built up some lint here with fibers from the denim and the flannel, so you're going to want to clean this out periodically to have the dryer dry a little bit faster."
