"In this step, we will be cutting the fabric in to bricks. Now Linda has placed the fabric on a cutting board and we are going to use the rotary cutter. Be sure that the ends of your fabric are completely straight and even. And she is going to fold this over so we have actually four layers for fabric. This makes cutting it very very quick because we can cut a whole strip at once. Linda is using the mat to measure the four inches. You will see that the mat has grid marks here to show inch by inch. So, she will be cutting four inches all the way through the width of the fabric. Next we will cut these strips into seven inch pieces. Now this one is doubled and we'll start from the cut end and cut seven inches. Using the grid on the mat to measure this, we will do seven, fourteen and twenty-one inches. So the process we demonstrated to cut these is exactly the same process you would use for the filler fabric and the backing fabric as well. Remember that you need about 112 bricks of the denim per color. You will need 450 of the filler and 450 of the backing."
