"This is Vicki Walker for Expert Village. Today we are working on a decorative runner and the pieces that we have chosen we have began to sew together. We have our fall pattern piece here and our leopard piece, the light weight suede and we have sewn this side together. Now we would sew the animal print piece to the bigger piece. If we had fabric that ravel, we want to be sure to zigzag around the edge after the main seam that we would be sewing here. The half inch allowance that we would be sure to that in cleaning it later that the edges did not ravel and the runner would start to come apart at one of the seams. But we would go ahead and sew our half inch seam allowance here. We would be reinforcing that edge again. You might want to go ahead and check the fabric store to find out cleaning recommendations of the fabric store. So you don't end up putting something even if you hand wash this you don't miss up any of the fabric this light weight. I'm not certain that it would hold up in your washing machine so cleaning probably would be a better idea at the local cleaners. We are just about finished sewing the pieces together which we would do in the next clip. "
